About Jos

I am Jos van Oorschot, a Developer/Cloud DevOps Engineer & Creative Technologist based in The Hague.With a background in Software Design & Development, Infrastructure, Containerization and Cloud. 

 

I help organizations design, manage and continuously improve reliable, scalable and fully automated environments. Alongside my Developer and DevOps work, Ifocus on game development, 3D modeling and AI development, from smart tools to experimental prototypes, always with an emphasis on practical value and working with full passion

 

I live a creative life, both technically and artistically. In my free time I am active as an artist and writer: I paint, illustrate and work on books in which technology, imagination and storytelling come together like my technical book "Docker under the Hood". This unique mix of technology and creativity enables me not only to design, build and automate projects, but also to give them their own identity, story and experience.

 

I live in The Hague and have two daughters, Merel and Fleur, who both live in Zeeland. After my studies I started my career in IT, and I still work as a freelance IT consultant, helping companies worldwide to implement the latest technologies like AI and Containerization. This international work has brought me into contact with a great diversity of cultures, through which I have learned a lot about how values and norms shape our thinking, our behaviour and our attitudes.

 

In addition, I greatly enjoy travelling and nature. I have lived and worked on almost every continent; Costa Rica and Switzerland are still my favourite countries. In my spare time you will often find me outdoors: walking on the beach, riding my mountain bike in the dunes or out on the water on a SUP board – a sport I have become completely hooked on after many years of surfing.
